‘Poetry is about saying real things memorably, and getting the better of language’s tendency towards inexactitude and vacuity.’ Peter McDonald, Professor of British and Irish Poetry, University of Oxford, Christopher Tower Student and Tutor in Poetry in the English Language, Christ Church
With the launch of the new Tower Poetry website, we are making some changes to the ways in which we cover contemporary poetry. In 2016, poetry features will be put up on a monthly basis: these will include new poems, interviews, critical essays, and occasional reviews. We will be announcing the first of our teams of guest-editors for this section of the website in the autumn. Until then, please do not send submissions. We are planning a ‘best of’ selection of the many reviews which have appeared on the website over the years, but for the present the reviews archive will not be available on the site.
