Being News

A strong glow warms the reed beds,
So they hover in a hot mist,
And are washed golden,
With the lightness of dawn,
And a faint, rippling splash,
As a craft travels home again,
Its wooden sides’ tellers of stories,
Every ripple leaving a word in the fibres,
Swirling a thousand idealities,
Revolution spoken in the flowing droplets,
Revolution defying collapse as we know,
Of the crises of our time.
Every droplet is an impression on the wood,
And the wood is the experience of being news,
News overlooked and never heard, the revolutions,
Of a thousand water droplets falling,
To the indifference of our oblivion,
A journeying craft without capture to a destination,
With only a simplicity,
The simplicity of being free.
