Resurrection

I walked among the Dead for years
Through my own stubborn bent;
Not quite in the shadowed realm
But awaiting the event.

Then in the hour I never looked
A sudden patch of sun;
I did not hold it close enough -
It shivered, and was gone.

Now the dawn grows closer still
And lately, in the air
I feel a careful stirring,
A waiting, everywhere -
